Apple Crisp Recipe
My daughter and I love apples. We always use a mix of apples no matter what we are making, but we use apples that take better to baking. These include Granny Smiths, Braeburns, Cortlands, Honeycrisps, Fujis, Galas, Jonagolds, Winesaps, and Pink Ladys.
Filling-
½ cup water
2 T Rum Apple Butter
¾ cup light brown sugar
¼ cup butter, melted
2 T flour
½ t kosher salt
2 t Cozy Chick Mix
2 ½ lbs apples, peeled, cored, sliced
Topping-
¾ cup light brown sugar
1 T Cozy Chick Mix
1 ½ cup flour
1 ½ cup oats
8 T butter, cubed
Preheat oven to 350*
Place apples in a 9 inch round baking dish. Whisk remaining filling ingredients together and pour over apples.
Mix topping ingredients (light brown sugar, Cozy Chick Mix, flour and oats) and sprinkle over filling. Cut in butter cubes with a pastry cutter or fork. Sprinkle mixture evenly over apple
